What can I say about Michael Braud that most of you don’t already know. He has been in the game for well over a decade and Michael has proven without a doubt that he is one of the most insane skaters of our time. More Filth
New York City legend Boschi Pope blessed the Filthjuice crew with his recent trip to California. This Filth-File was a last minute thing but I had a feeling Boschi was coming out here to handle business, not only for his new startup company Boschi Pope Company (BPC), but to also handle his business on the blades like old times. I personally had never met Boschi until his recent visit, but my memories of him go far back to the early 2000’s when he was the youngest pro out of NYC. His skating and personality embodies the East Coast street skating scene and he’s back from his hiatus to keep the NYC scene strong! More Filth
Philip Moore where do I start? I’ve known Philip for a very long time with living and traveling to Birmingham, Alabama over the years. He’s a product of the south, a true southern man. A kind of person who will always have your back, and be completely honest with you about anything.
Fortunately there have been a hand full of generations of skaters within Northern California since aggressive skating started in the early 90’s. I’d like to consider myself the second generation at least here in NorCal as other names like Jason Marshall, Jon Starr, Jon Julio, Jayson Reduta, Nick Riggle, Eugene Baldavino, Anthony Barroga and so many other names were definitely the first generation paving the way. I hit this realization before writing this because over the past 5 or so years I felt there may not be a next generation of skaters, but then we get a heavy hitter like Stephen Babcock hailing out of Brentwood and his homies that are down for the same cause to continue the strength and passion of NorCal skating.
Name / Shawn Oberg / Age / 28 / Resides / Manteca
You can tell a lot about a man by his hands. Men with soft hands should never be trusted as they have never done a day’s honest labor.
Name / Jon Julio / Age 38 / Resides / Santa Ana
Jon Julio is an icon in skating and is a force to be reckoned with. He has proven year in and year out that a love for skating will take you to places in your life you’ve never been before. Gratitude towards the man is the least any skater can do, but he’s not looking for recognition, he’s looking to keep skating strong and influential until the day he dies.
Name / Sean Keane / Age / 27 / Resides / Rocklin
Sean Keane may look like an innocent, well-adjusted young man, but don’t let him fool you. He’s a f—ing killer that strikes with little to no warning.
Name / John Vossoughi / Age 25 / Resides / San Francisco
I have met a boatload of people through skating, but it’s very seldom that you meet a dude who is both righteous on the blades and radical to kick it with. John Vossoughi happens to be one of those dudes. The Hog is a man who isn’t afraid to grab the bull by the horns, break those fucking horns off the bull, and drink the nectar of life inside. If that doesn’t make sense to you, what I’m trying to say is this fool really enjoys living.
Name / Casey Bagozzi / Age / 32 / Resides / Sacramento
Very rarely does a rollerblader come along that displays real innovation, doing things that undoubtedly progress our small sport. Even more rare is an individual that innovates the game throughout their entire ‘rollerblading’ career, without question that individual is Casey Bagozzi. Hailing from our states capital, Bagozzi has been at the forefront of Northern California rollerblading seemingly since he strapped a pair of blades on his feet.
